Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2018 Dodge Durango, we're gonna be checking out the CURT Echo wireless brake controller. When it comes to the Durango, it's a pretty capable SUV. Quite a few people are out there using 'em to do some relatively heavy towing and a lot times when you're pulling those bigger trailers those are gonna have trailer brakes. And you're gonna need a way to apply those trailer brakes that way you can come to a safe stop. If you're, you don't want your car being responsible for all the braking when you're pulling a heavy trailer. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Durango, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller. This proportional controller works for one up to four axles. It's part number is 90105. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha Plug-in Wiring Adapter, part number 3045-P. The manual override lever here on the bottom is a very convenient way to supply power back to your trailer without having to hit the brakes in your vehicle. We've got our gain adjustment here and wherever we've got that set, you can see we're at about 7.2 there; we can go up to 7.2. This manual override is at no time going to overpower the brakes back on the trailer. more

This is a proportional trailer brake controller that works for one up to four axles. Part number is 90885. To aid in installation, we're going to use the Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter, part number 3045-P. The Prodigy P2 is a proportional brake controller. That's great, it's the newer style of brake controller. It's actually going to use a sensor inside of it to detect how much braking force we're using in our vehicle. more

This time-delayed electronic brake controller is here to work for one or two axle trailers. Part number is 39523. To aid in our installation, we're also going to be using the Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter for electronic brake controllers, part number 3045-P. The PowerTrac is going to be an excellent brake controller for the one or two axle trailers. This is going to allow us to have braking power in out trailers so we're not overloading our vehicle. It makes it much safer going down the road. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Durango, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Draw-tite Activator 4. This is a time delayed, trailer brake controller that'll work for one of the four axles. Part number is 5504. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, part number 3045-P. The Draw-tite Activator 4 is going to be a time delayed brake controller set up. What that means is when we hit the brakes on our vehicle the brake controller is going to pick up on that and it's going to bring up the brakes on our trailer in a specified kind of a time. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Durango, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Tekonsha Voyager. This is a proportional trailer break controller for 1 up to 4 axles. Part number is 39510. We are also going to be using the Tekonsha Plugin Wiring Adapter for electronic brake controllers. Part number 3045-P. Now the setup of the brake controller initially, what we're going to do is turn the right hand knob, there is a little knob right here, we're going to turn it all the way clockwise. Should be able to pull that lever over and see that dark red light shine. Now while we've got our foot on the brake, we're going to start turning the knob on the left counterclockwise. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Dodge Durango- Video
Today in our 2013 Dodge Durango, we're going to take a look at and then show you how to install the CURT Tri Flex. This is a proportional trailer brake controller good for one up to four axles, part number is C51140. We're also going to be using the CURT Dual Plug-In Custom Wiring Adapter. This is part number C51446. The CURT Tri Flex is a proportional breaking controller, so that means when we hit our breaks, if it's a real fast sudden stop, the accelerometer 00:33 inside, that's going to apply our brakes very hard and very suddenly on our trailer for us to help us to accommodate. If we're going through traffic in the every day slowing down a little bit, the speed not slowing down, a gentle press on our brakes here are only going to activate that controller or will activate that controller at a slower, more smooth, and more comfortable rate. It's fully adjustable here on the top for our output. We can go all the way up to 9.9 and all the way down to 0.6 for our output going to our rear trailer. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2007 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2007 Dodge Durango, we'll be installing the Tekonsh Prodigy P2 brake controller, part number 90885. In order to install this brake controller on this vehicle, we'll also need to use the e-trailer universal install kit, part number ETBC7. To start, we'll first food ahead and assemble the 7 pull adapter bracket. With hardware provided, we'll use it to attach the bracket to the 7 pull adapter. We'll go ahead and take the bracket, feed it over the wires and up to the back of the mounting surface for the 7 pull adapter. Then, we'll take the screws, feed them through the front side of the 7 pull and secure it with the nuts in the back side. Once we have all 4 in place, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. I'm going to go ahead and take some black electrical tape and wrap up 8 to 10 inches of our wire. more
